Google+, You Tube and a Facebook
page can be useful in helping to build your blog. Tie them all together, and
let the power of SEO (search engine optimization) start to work for you.
In addition to your blog, I strongly suggest you get a Gmail account. This will also give you a Google+ account. If you are using blogger, then every new post you make can be posted on Google+ automatically. Soon, you might even get people connecting to you on there.
Next, setup a You Tube channel. You can have up to 10 You Tube channels, and they are free. The point here is to make short videos that you can put on your blog; if you don’t like writing, try doing videos. If you have a webcam, you can make them very quickly. Or a smart phone, and upload them to your laptop or desktop.
If you want to make some fun videos, check out Powtoon.com. You can make videos for free, and they have video tutorials on how to use their program.
Create a Facebook page. This is also free of course. You can post links to your blog entries, to your You Tube videos, and other things.
Now, you can give each of your blog, Facebook page, and You Tube channel, a title or name. Make sure they are all the same. I don’t mean a domain name here, but just a title that is the same for all three. Like Marcia’s Secret Recipies, or something. That will help tie them all together. On your blog, you can provide links to your FB page and You Tube channel as well.
I make videos for products, no more than 30 seconds long. When I post them on You Tube, I put the link to the product in the description of the video. That way, when I post the video on FB, the link underneath the video goes directly to the product in TripleClicks. I don’t have to put another link in the post for that. It works very well. Social media love videos, so it would probably be a good time to start practicing how to make them and use them.
And have some fun with this!!!! Your enthusiasm will go a long way to attracting people to your blog, page, or channel.
